PPSA – 15 August 2024
The PPSA’s (Brazilian State’s Share of Pre Salt Crude Oil) monthly oil production reached a new record in June, hitting 71,000 barrels per day (bpd). This volume includes output from eight production sharing contracts (66,000 bpd) and the Production Individualisation Agreements (PIAs) for the uncontracted areas of Tupi and Atapu. The result is 26.7% higher than May’s production, influenced by the reduction in cost recovery from Mero and the increase in the Union’s share in the PIAs of the uncontracted areas of Tupi and Atapu. The Mero field accounted for 73% of the PPSA’s production. These figures are part of the Monthly Production Bulletin, released this Thursday by Pré-Sal Petróleo (PPSA).
According to Tabita Loureiro, Technical Director and Acting President of PPSA, this new record makes the PPSA the 8th largest producer in the country for the month, and by the end of the year, the numbers are expected to be even higher. “According to our studies, by the end of the year, we could reach nearly one hundred thousand barrels per day,” she said.
The total production from contracts under the production sharing regime has remained stable, with a daily average of 1 million barrels. June’s result was 3% higher than the previous period, due to operational improvements in the P-70, in the Atapu field. Búzios was the largest producer, with 509,900 bpd. Since 2017, the start of the historical series, the accumulated production under the production sharing regime has reached 842.5 million barrels. The PPSA’s accumulated production totals 45.83 million barrels of oil.
Regarding exported natural gas, in June, the average production under the production sharing regime was 3.72 million m³ per day. This month’s result was 0.5% lower compared to the previous period, due to stable exports from Búzios and a slight reduction in gas exports from the Sapinhoá field. Of this total, the PPSA was entitled to 113,000 m³ per day. Including the results from the Tupi PIA, the total volume of natural gas available for commercialisation by the PPSA was 166,000 m³ per day in June.
