Petrobras has announced the signing of amendments to the charter and service contracts for the FPSO Cidade de Angra dos Reis, located in the Tupi field, on behalf of the responsible consortium. The agreements, signed with the companies Tupi Pilot MV 22 B.V. and Modec Serviços de Petróleo do Brasil Ltda., extend the charter period of the unit for a further five years, until 2030.
In addition to extending the contractual term, the amendments include adjustments to the FPSO, which has a production capacity exceeding 50,000 barrels per day. The improvements aim to enhance production reliability and efficiency, ensure the operational integrity and safety of the platform, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The decommissioning of the unit is scheduled for 2030.
In operation since 2010 in the Tupi field, the FPSO Cidade de Angra dos Reis was the first with a large capacity to operate in the pre-salt region of the Santos Basin, marking a milestone in offshore exploration in Brazil. The contract extension aligns with the 2025–2029 Business Plan and reflects the commitment of Petrobras and its partners to the continuity and expansion of operations in the field. The Tupi consortium is composed of Petrobras (67.216%), Shell (23.024%), Petrogal (9.209%), and PPSA (0.551%).
