Brazil’s oil production in June averaged 3.409 million barrels per day (bbl/d), marking an increase of 2.7% compared to the previous month and 1.3% compared to the same period last year, according to the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas, and Biofuels (ANP) on Friday (2).
Natural gas production in June reached 150.07 million cubic meters per day (m³/d), up 3.1% from May 2024 but down 1.4% compared to June 2023.
The total production (oil and natural gas) amounted to 4.353 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/d).
In the pre-salt layer, oil and natural gas extraction reached 3.424 million boe/d, accounting for 78.7% of Brazil’s production. This volume represents a 3.3% increase compared to the previous month and a 5.6% increase compared to the same month in 2023.
In June, offshore fields produced 97.6% of the oil and 86.8% of the natural gas.
The fields operated by Petrobras, either alone or in partnership with other companies, were responsible for 89.50% of the total production, according to the ANP.
